History of World Youth Empowerment
Established in 1999 as a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization, WYE (World Youth Empowerment), exists to encourage, educate, motivate and challenge youth to reach their highest potential as we develop their self esteem, self worth, and enhance the quality of leadership skills. We serve at risk youth between the ages of 12-18 years old, focusing on motivation, training and experiential learning to guide them to higher education, employment and positive life choices.
We want to encourage youth to take active roles as community leaders and social entrepreneurs. With these skills they can build strong community ties, guiding them to make positive life choices and enrich the community by forging future leadership roles.
Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that a son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president.
